Chia

At the beginning of the splendid Costa del Sud, the provincial road touches the beautiful Chia tower and the tiny seaside resort of the same name, which has remained “on a human scale”: the “old” village is still made up of a few villas, shaded by large trees of fig.

DISCOVERING

Chia’s sea

From the height on which the tower stands, you can admire the beach of Porto Chia and theCardulinu islet, joined to the mainland by a sandy strip; to the west the spectacular expanse of beaches and intact dunes colonized by centuries-old junipers, with the Collina di Cogoni, the promontory of Porto Campana and the S’Acqua Durci beach.
The latter faces the unmistakable, large Scoglio su Giudeu, whose name probably refers to the dark color of the rock, or because it is inhabited by the octopus, locally called pruppu giudeu.
The islet can be reached on foot, in the shallow sandy bottom, to admire from its 18 meters high, the waters of the incredible, crystalline emerald green transparency that surround it, and which also bathe the long beach of golden sand.
